Posted August 3rd, 2005 - Beginning in 2005 we've been keeping a
tally of who refers new members to the HEA. The member bringing in
the most new folks will receive free membership for next year. So
far, the contenders include Michael Watson (6), Patti
Scott (5), Buddy Todd (1) and Al Behrens (1).
Get in on the contest and bring in some new folks ... let's make this a
banner year for the HEA.
Posted August 3rd, 2005 - Our July conference was great success and we're looking forward to another in November (Nov 11,12,13). The Friday night hospitality evening at the November conference includes our crazy gift exchange, so you might want to start thinking about what to bring (under $10) if you want to get in on the fun. November's meeting is also our annual awards banquet and promises to be truly special. Posted March 7th, 2005 - Dave Edwards our new V.P. of Leesburg Fl. is the new owner of the www.learninghypnosis.com web site. This was run by Earl Yawman for many years. Dave will be completing his training to be a Hypnosis Instructor offering the NGH certification course in April. He plans to offer training in many areas of Florida and other states with his wife Cathy who is also a certified hypnotist. Dave received his training through Omni Hypnosis with Jerry Kein and also received his hypnosis training though Don Mottin of Mottin and Johnson. Over the last year plus Dave has been receiving training and using Quantum-Touch which is a hands on healing method and has used it many time during the Hypnosis session with great success. He has been doing many small workshops on this also and is offering training to anyone wanting to put another tool in their tool box.
Posted February 26th, 2005 - Looks like Earl Yawman didn't even get a chance to list his house for sale before the offers started coming in, so he and his wife Marty may be leaving central Florida sooner than we'd expected. We're hoping they'll still be here for our March conference, but they may not be able to wait around. They have found a new home in Jasper, Georgia. We'll certainly miss them here. (See the interview with Earl in the latest issue of Hypnotes, the newsletter of the HEA. Posted February 25th, 2005 - Our chapter member Michelle Beaudry has been chosen as a presenter at the 2005 NGH Convention this coming August to be held in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Her topic will the "The Spa Of Your Inner Mind —Combine Elman & Ericksonian In A Flexible Format". Michelle has been refining this process over the past over the past year or more and has created a powerful format for hypnotherapists. This will be her first presentation at the NGH and we send her our congratulations. Posted January 29th, 2005 - Unlimited Possibilities Hypnosis Inc., Patricia V. Scott, President, is sponsoring Michael Watson for another 8-Day (4-weekend) Hypnosis Certification Training in St. Petersburg, FL. (March 12 & 13; April 2 & 3; April 23 & 24; & May 14 & 15). The eight graduates of last fall’s training were extremely pleased with the quality of this comprehensive program, which is approved by the American Board of Hypnotherapy & the International Association of Counselors & Therapists, and several of them are already actively seeing clients. For continuing education and growth, UPHI also offers Hypnosis Master Classes the last Thursday of each month. The new “Associates” program offers valuable on-going training, guidance and mentoring for graduates, as well as the opportunity to work with clients in a supervised apprenticeship program. Posted January 26th, 2005 - Dan Cleary will be coming to O-Town to present to the upcoming HEA conference (March 18-20th). We haven't seen him here for a few years so it'll be a special pleasure to have him back. His topic this time around: "Rituals in Hypnosis" ... He's written an article on the topic which you can find in our ARTICLES area.
Posted January 25th, 2005 - HEA member Michelle Beaudry is a
founding member and organizer of "The Holistic Connections
Group" which meets every Monday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm
at Z Coffee in Altamonte Springs. It is free, and no RSVP needed. Please
bring flyers for any events you wish to announce. Meetings are held in the
Community Room. For more information, contact Michelle Beaudry at 407 862-9144 or email her at hypnofemme@aol.com Posted January 23rd, 2005 - HEA Treasurer Earl Yawman and his wife Marty are hoping to move to the Atlanta area to be nearer to their children. This will leave a real void on the board (and in our lives), so anyone with interest in the treasurer's spot might want to let Earl know that you're available. Posted January 23rd, 2005 - Our Association has a number of trainers who offer certification in hypnosis and related disciplines. Earl Yawman, Buddy Todd, Renee Sakr, Jane Ann Covington and Michael Watson have courses available. If there's anyone we missed, please let us know.
